PPO plans also allow you to visit any dentist you want although you will pay a smaller portion of your costs out-of-pocket if you use an in-network dentist. Humana dental insurance Preventive Plus plans allow you to enjoy tremendous savings on basic services, and you can avail of covered preventive services for free. Covered preventive services include dental X-rays, oral examinations, tropical fluoride treatments, sealants and prophylactic cleanings. Covered basic services for which you will pay 50% of costs include tooth extractions and non-surgical root removal, emergency care for pain relief and amalgam and composite fillings. Some markets also offer a Humana DMHO prepaid plan, under which you will have to use a dentist who is a member of the prepaid/DMHO network, otherwise no services provided by out-network dentists other than emergency procedures will be covered.

If you want to purchase individual Humana dental insurance plans, you have a choice of HumanaOne Preventive Plans that offers no copays and low deductibles and don't require you to select an in-network dentist, or HumanaOne Dental C550, which is a pre-paid plan that requires you to select a dentist who will provide all your primary care. If you don't need extensive dental care, you can also avail of a HumanaOne Dental Discount plan, which allows you to avail of discounts of as much as 20% to 50% on many dental services.
